Clicking ‘checkout’ could cost more after Supreme Court case

Online shoppers have gotten used to seeing that line on checkout screens before they click “purchase.” But a case before the Supreme Court could change that.

The Supreme Court is scheduled to start hearing oral arguments in the case, South Dakota v. Wayfair 17-494, on Tuesday and make its decision by the end of June. Online retailers Wayfair, and Newegg are among those opposing South Dakota’s attempt to charge online sales taxes.
